Russian State Library For The Blind

One of the projects of the State Library for the Blind is a virtual library of “speaking” books (in special audio formats intended exclusively for use by the blind and visually impaired) with a wide range of fiction, educational and scientific literature. Visually impaired people from all regions of Russia, as well as Russian-speaking users abroad, regardless of the time of application and their place of residence, have online access to this library. In order to ensure the safety of the information resources of the virtual library of “talking” books and uninterrupted access to them, a new independent server was created. The Vinchel Foundation supported the library’s initiative to create a database backup.
